BYD’s premium brand Denza is set to launch the N8L, a large six-seat SUV, in the second quarter of next year. This new model will cater to the luxury SUV market alongside the existing N9 model. The N8L is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) that recently appeared in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filing catalog.
Measuring 5,200 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,820/1,990 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm, the Denza N8L is equipped with BYD’s e3 technology. This technology, a smaller version of BYD’s e4 technology, offers tri-motor independent drive and rear-wheel steering functionality. The N8L features a front motor with a peak power output of 200 kW, and two rear motors with a peak power output of 180 kW each. Its engine displacement is 1,995 ml, generating a power output of 152 kW.
The N8L can be seen as a slightly scaled-down version of the N9 flagship SUV launched earlier this year. The N9, measuring 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm, also boasts BYD’s e3 technology and impressive acceleration capabilities.
Denza had previously introduced the N8 SUV in August 2023, but it has since been discontinued. The N8L features a distinct exterior design from its predecessor. Denza’s sales performance in June saw an increase of 28.58% year-on-year, with the brand selling a total of 15,783 units. The N9, D9 MPV, Z9 series, and N7 models contributed significantly to these sales figures.
With the launch of the N8L and the continued success of the Denza brand, it is evident that Denza is making significant strides in the premium SUV market. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new addition to the Denza lineup.
