Jiangsu Changshu Automotive Trim Group Co., Ltd. (CAIP), a leading Chinese automotive supplier, has recently unveiled plans to establish a new subsidiary in Zaragoza, Spain. This strategic move is part of the company’s efforts to expand its presence overseas and capitalize on new opportunities in the global automotive market.

The new subsidiary, tentatively named CAIP (Spain) Smart Cockpit Co., Ltd., will be formed through a multi-tiered investment structure. The investment will be made by CAIP (Luxembourg) Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of CAIP (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., which is in turn fully owned by the parent company, CAIP. Upon completion, the Luxembourg-based entity will hold 100% equity in the Spanish subsidiary, with CAIP retaining full ownership.

With a total investment of €24 million, the new company will focus on the production, sales, and trade of automotive smart cockpits, components, molds, inspection tools, and automation equipment. This investment underscores CAIP’s commitment to its long-term strategic goals, supporting the development of its international business, enhancing services for global clients, and expanding into new overseas markets, particularly in Europe.

The establishment of the new subsidiary will be fully integrated into the parent company’s financial statements, without any related-party transactions or competitive conflicts. However, the investment is still subject to regulatory filings and approvals for outbound investments, with uncertainty surrounding the approval timeline.

This significant development by CAIP highlights the company’s dedication to innovation, international expansion, and providing cutting-edge solutions to the automotive industry. With its focus on smart cockpit technology and commitment to excellence, CAIP is poised to make a significant impact in the global automotive market.

With this new subsidiary in Spain, CAIP is well-positioned to further strengthen its presence in Europe and capitalize on the growing demand for advanced automotive solutions. The company’s investment in smart cockpit technology underscores its commitment to driving innovation and delivering top-quality products to customers worldwide.
