Aito, the automotive brand developed by Huawei and Seres Group, is set to launch an updated version of its M7 SUV in September. The updated M7 will come in larger dimensions, measuring 5,080 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. This is a step up from the current M7 model, which measures 5,020 mm in length, 1,945 mm in width, and 1,760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.

The updated Aito M7 will introduce battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants alongside the existing extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options. This marks a significant expansion in the lineup, as the current M7 only offers EREV variants. The new model will also offer both five-seat and six-seat seating layouts to cater to different customer preferences.

In terms of powertrain, the EREV variants of the updated M7 will feature battery pack capacities of 37 kWh and 53 kWh, providing a combined range of over 1,600 kilometers. On the other hand, the BEV variants will be equipped with 100 kWh battery packs, offering a range exceeding 700 kilometers. These models will also incorporate Huawei’s high-voltage electric drive platform, known for its compact size, lightweight design, high efficiency, and reduced noise levels.

Safety and technology features on the updated Aito M7 include Huawei’s ADS 4 smart driving system, which includes advanced sensors such as a roof-mounted 192-channel LiDAR with a detection range of 250 meters. The vehicle also includes a rear-facing high-precision solid-state LiDAR for improved rear obstacle detection, along with 12 ultrasonic radars and 11 cameras.

The Aito M7 has undergone several updates since its initial launch, with the introduction of the M7 Ultra and Pro series in subsequent years. Currently, the model is available in eight versions, with prices ranging from RMB 249,800 to RMB 329,800.

The updated Aito M7 has recently been listed in the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s regulatory filing directory, indicating that its official launch is imminent. With its enhanced features, expanded lineup, and cutting-edge technology, the updated M7 is poised to make a significant impact in the competitive SUV market.
