Li Auto is gearing up to start deliveries of its highly anticipated Li i8 electric SUV on August 20, with a bold target of delivering between 8,000 to 10,000 units by the end of September. The company is determined to showcase the popularity of the Li i8 and has announced that its factories are operating at full capacity to meet this ambitious goal.

In a recent announcement on Weibo, Li Auto expressed its commitment to ensuring the delivery of more than 8,000 Li i8s by the end of September. The company is also aiming to collaborate closely with its supply chain partners to push the delivery target to 10,000 units, with the ultimate aim of getting more vehicles into the hands of consumers before the upcoming National Day holiday in China, which falls between October 1 to 8 this year.

The delivery of the Li i8 will kick off on August 20 as planned, and with an increasing number of pre-order customers finalizing their purchases, Li Auto has started displaying estimated delivery dates for the Li i8 on its mobile app and website. Customers who place new orders for the Li i8 can expect delivery within 10-12 weeks, according to information available on Li Auto’s website.

The Li i8, which made its debut on July 29, marks Li Auto’s second venture into the battery electric vehicle (BEV) market, following the Li Mega MPV. Following some initial challenges with market acceptance, the company relaunched the Li i8 on August 5, streamlining the available trims to one and reducing the price to enhance its appeal.

Priced starting at RMB 339,800 ($47,320), the Li i8 is positioned slightly higher in price compared to the Li L8 extended-range electric vehicle (EREV), which starts at RMB 321,800. Looking ahead, Li Auto is set to introduce the Li i6 in September, a smaller electric SUV that is expected to come with a more affordable price tag.

Despite facing some setbacks in recent months, Li Auto remains optimistic about its future prospects. With a focus on delivering high-quality electric vehicles that cater to a wide range of consumers, the company is determined to regain momentum in the market and solidify its position as a leading player in the electric vehicle industry.
