Nissan has introduced a new Heritage Edition for the 2026 Z sports car, and it is a sight to behold. While the makeover is purely cosmetic, it pays homage to the Z’s history with a nod to the GT-R influence in the striking Midnight Purple paint job.
The Heritage Edition comes with bronze 19-inch RAYS wheels, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler featuring retro-style “Twin Turbo” badging, and other bronze accents inspired by the iconic 300ZX. Additionally, a bronze “Twin Turbo” body-side graphic adds a touch of vintage style to the overall look of the vehicle.
Inside the special Z, you’ll find unique kick plates and special floor mats, adding a touch of exclusivity to the cabin. Nissan will offer the Heritage Edition only on the mid-grade Performance trim, which includes features like a mechanical limited-slip differential, performance brakes, a Bose audio system, heated mirrors, and aluminum pedals.
Both the Sport and Performance trims of the 2026 Z come equipped with Nissan’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine, delivering 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Drivers can choose between a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission. For those seeking more power, the 2026 Nissan Z Nismo makes a return with 420 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque, available only with an automatic transmission. However, Nissan has hinted at a Nismo manual transmission variant in the works, promising enthusiasts a thrilling driving experience.
The Z Nismo boasts a faster-shifting gearbox, revised bodywork, wider wheels, and Nismo-tuned suspension and brakes. Inside, the coupe features Recaro seats, a leather- and Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and red-anodized start-stop buttons. A new Boulder Gray paint option with a black roof is also available for the Sport and Performance trims.
Nissan anticipates that the 2026 Z will start arriving at dealerships by the end of the month, although pricing details have yet to be announced. For reference, the 2025 Z Sport starts at $44,165, the Performance trim at $54,165, and the Z Nismo at $66,945. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new addition to the Nissan Z lineup.
