Great Wall Motor’s (GWM) premium Wey brand has officially kicked off the pre-sales of the highly anticipated Gaoshan 7 MPV. The latest addition to the Gaoshan lineup, the MPV is available in two editions – Standard and Welfare – priced at RMB 289,800 ($40,700) and RMB 349,800 respectively.

During the pre-sales launch event, Wey revealed that the Gaoshan 7 MPV received an overwhelming response, with a total of 3,756 pre-orders placed within just one hour of the start of pre-sales.

Positioned as a mid-to-large family MPV, the Gaoshan 7 boasts a spacious 2+2+3 seating configuration. With dimensions measuring 5,050 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,900 mm in height, the MPV offers a comfortable and versatile interior space. It also features a wheelbase of 3,085 mm, ensuring a stable and smooth driving experience.

Equipped with a powerful plug-in hybrid system that combines a 1.5T engine with dual electric motors, the Gaoshan 7 delivers impressive performance. The engine generates a maximum power of 125 kW (168 hp) and peak torque of 245 Nm, resulting in a combined power output of 337 kW and total torque of 644 Nm. This enables the MPV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.

The Gaoshan 7 is equipped with a 44.28-kWh ternary lithium battery, providing a WLTC battery range of 172 kilometers. With a full tank of fuel and a fully charged battery, the MPV’s WLTC combined range extends to an impressive 945 kilometers. Additionally, the MPV features Hi4 intelligent electric all-wheel drive, a 128-channel LiDAR sensor, and the third-generation Coffee Pilot driver assistance system for enhanced safety and convenience.

In August, GWM reported its highest monthly sales since January, selling a total of 115,558 vehicles. The Wey brand contributed significantly to this success, with 8,028 units sold in August, marking a 167.51 percent year-on-year increase.

The Gaoshan 7 MPV is set to redefine the family MPV segment with its advanced features, exceptional performance, and impressive range. With its successful pre-sales launch and strong customer interest, the Gaoshan 7 is poised to make a significant impact in the market.
