Li Auto recently achieved a significant milestone in China by delivering its 1 millionth vehicle. This accomplishment took the Chinese automaker 58 months to achieve, with the company selling 100,000 cars in just the last two months alone.

Previously, CarNewsChina had reported that Li Auto had been preparing for the delivery ceremony of its 1 millionth car in China. Special plaques were distributed to every Li-branded showroom in the country, leading up to this momentous occasion. Between January and September 2024, Li Auto successfully delivered 975,176 cars to its customers.

On October 18, Li Auto officially announced the delivery of its 1 millionth car to a lucky client. This equates to an impressive average of 1,379 vehicles being delivered per day. The milestone vehicle was revealed to be the Li Auto L9 flagship EREV SUV, marking a significant achievement for the company.

Li Auto, founded in 2015, began selling cars in 2019 and quickly gained traction in the market. Within six months of its sales launch, the company had already delivered 10,000 cars to eager customers. By late 2021, Li Auto had reached the milestone of selling 100,000 cars, and now, nearly three years later, they have successfully delivered 1 million vehicles. This achievement highlights the company’s growth and success in the competitive automotive industry.

Notably, Li Auto has seen a surge in sales in recent months, with a record retail sales volume of 53,709 vehicles in September. The brand’s model lineup includes four EREV crossovers – the L6, L7, L8, and L9 – as well as an all-electric minivan called Mega. The Li Auto L6 range extended SUV has emerged as the current bestseller, with 25,393 units sold in September 2024. Production of the Li L6 crossovers at the Changzhou plant has been running at around 750 units per day, showcasing the company’s manufacturing efficiency.

Despite facing challenges, Li Auto has managed to deliver 367,638 cars to customers from January to October 18, completing nearly 80% of its sales goal. The company had adjusted its sales target twice this year, initially aiming for 800,000 deliveries in 2024. By staying resilient and adaptable, Li Auto continues to make significant strides in the electric vehicle market in China.
