Xpeng Launches P7+ Electric Sedan with Impressive Pre-Sales Numbers

Xpeng, a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, recently unveiled the new P7+ electric sedan with much anticipation. The company began pre-sales of the P7+ on October 14, starting at a price of RMB 209,800 ($29,450). In a remarkable show of consumer interest, Xpeng received over 30,000 pre-orders for the P7+ within the first 1 hour and 48 minutes of opening pre-sales.

The official launch event for the P7+ is scheduled for November 7 at 7:30 pm Beijing time and will take place at the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou. This location holds special significance as it is the alma mater of Xpeng’s chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng.

Prior to the launch event, Xpeng will host an AI Tech Day event on the same day at 2:30 pm Beijing time. This event will showcase the company’s advancements in artificial intelligence technology and its integration into their vehicles.

The P7+ was first introduced to European consumers in Paris, France, on October 14 before becoming available for pre-sales in China. The model’s initial price is expected to be lowered for the official sales launch, following the industry trend among Chinese EV manufacturers.

Deutsche Bank analyst Wang Bin’s team expressed optimism about the P7+’s pre-sale price, considering it reasonable and in line with expectations. They anticipate that the final official price will likely start at RMB 190,000, based on Xpeng’s pricing history.

The P7+ is a mid-to-large-size electric sedan boasting impressive specifications. It features lithium iron phosphate battery packs with capacities ranging from 60.7 kWh to 76.3 kWh, offering ranges of 620 km to 710 km. The model’s design prioritizes aerodynamics, consuming as little as 11.6 kWh of electricity per 100 km.

Production of the P7+ has already commenced, with the first vehicles rolling off the assembly line at Xpeng’s Guangzhou facility on October 18. This preparation ensures rapid delivery to customers following the official launch.

With high anticipation and strong pre-sales numbers, the Xpeng P7+ is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates on this innovative model from Xpeng.
