Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra prototype has made headlines as it conquered the challenging Nürburgring track with an impressive lap time of 6:46.874, solidifying its position as the fastest four-door car to navigate the circuit. This milestone achievement was proudly announced by Xiaomi EV, the automotive arm of Xiaomi, further enhancing the company’s reputation in the electric vehicle market.

The SU7 Ultra prototype’s exceptional performance at the Nürburgring comes just ahead of the unveiling of its production version, scheduled for today. Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun introduced the SU7 Ultra prototype earlier this year, emphasizing its focus on track performance and speed.

Powered by Xiaomi’s V8s motor, the SU7 Ultra prototype boasts an impressive 1,548 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds. With a top speed exceeding 350 km/h, this electric sedan is set to make waves in the automotive industry with its cutting-edge technology and performance capabilities.

Despite encountering challenges due to inclement weather during initial testing at the Nürburgring, Xiaomi EV persevered and secured a one-hour window on October 28 to attempt the lap record. With British driver David Pittard behind the wheel, the SU7 Ultra prototype completed its record-breaking lap in just under six minutes, setting a new standard for four-door vehicles on the track.

Xiaomi is set to showcase its latest products, including the Xiaomi Mi 15 phone, at an event scheduled for today. Additionally, the highly anticipated production version of the SU7 Ultra will be unveiled, featuring the same chassis structure, triple motors, and battery pack as the prototype. Lei Jun has hinted that the production version will be slightly more expensive but remains committed to delivering exceptional value to customers.
