The 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander lineup is expanding with two new models, offering a range of options for buyers while keeping price increases minimal. Toyota recently unveiled the new models, including the base Grand Highlander LE priced at $42,310, which is below the XLE model priced at $45,080. The Limited and Platinum models are positioned above the XLE, with prices starting at $49,810 and $55,495, respectively. These models come equipped with a 2.4-liter turbo-4 engine producing 265 hp, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Most models come with front-wheel drive, with the option to upgrade to all-wheel drive for an additional $1,600.
The Grand Highlander offers more space, size, and features compared to the Toyota Highlander, making it a desirable choice for families in need of extra room. An optional hybrid powertrain is available on the LE, XLE, and Limited models, with the Limited model also offering a Nightshade Edition for 2025. This edition features blacked-out exterior trim and 20-inch wheels, along with a hybrid system that includes a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine and Toyota’s planetary hybrid system, providing 245 hp and up to 36 mpg combined. Hybrid pricing starts at $45,660 for the LE, $46,830 for the XLE, and $53,160 for the Limited. The Nightshade Edition comes at a $900 premium over the Limited model.
For those looking for more power, Toyota offers the Hybrid Max powertrain on Limited and Platinum models, which combines the turbo-4 engine with a different hybrid system. This system delivers a total output of 362 hp, enabling a 0-60 mph time of 6.3 seconds and a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. However, fuel economy drops to 27 mpg combined with this option.
The XLE, Limited, Platinum, and Nightshade models are expected to be available at dealerships by December 2024, with the LE models following in the first half of 2025.
