Xpeng, a leading Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker listed on the NYSE as XPEV, has made a significant move by entering the Nepalese automotive market. The company recently opened its first flagship showroom in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. This marks Xpeng’s official entry into the local market, as it begins delivering its popular G6 SUV to Nepalese customers.

The G6 SUV, a direct competitor to Tesla’s Model Y, was launched in China on June 29, 2023, with deliveries starting in July of that year. The vehicle has garnered attention for its sleek design, advanced technology, and competitive pricing. In fact, the G6 currently has a starting price of RMB 199,900 ($27,640) in China, making it an attractive option for consumers looking to transition to electric vehicles.

In Nepal, Xpeng has partnered with local distributor CG Motors to bring the G6 to customers. The company recently delivered the first 25 units of the G6 to local customers, signaling a strong start to its presence in the Nepalese market. CG Motors has also announced plans to expand the number of Xpeng sales and service outlets in Nepal to better serve the growing demand for electric vehicles in the region.

In addition to expanding its presence in Nepal, Xpeng has also been making strides in other international markets. The company has brought the G6 to several countries in Europe and Asia, with plans for further expansion in the future. Notably, in Singapore, Xpeng achieved impressive monthly deliveries with the G6 matching Tesla’s performance in just one month after starting local deliveries.

Overall, Xpeng’s entry into the Nepalese market and the successful delivery of the G6 SUV to local customers highlight the company’s commitment to expanding its global footprint. With a focus on innovation, technology, and sustainability, Xpeng is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for electric vehicles worldwide.
