Jaguar Unveils Four New Design Elements for Electric Rebirth

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is gearing up for a new era with its iconic Jaguar brand, introducing four innovative design elements that symbolize a fresh start for the marque in its “second century”.

Recently, the British automaker hit the streets with prototypes of its upcoming four-door GT model, the first of a trio of models set to debut in 2026. The company is slated to showcase a design prototype during December’s Miami Art Week, setting the stage for a complete electric transformation.

One of the key design elements is the introduction of a new font, dubbed Exuberant, to display the word “Jaguar” in a modern and dynamic way. This ‘Device Mark’ aims to breathe new life into the brand’s visual identity.

Another standout feature is the ‘Strike Through’, a 16-bar grid of horizontal stripes that will serve as a background element and a distinctive symbol for the new Jaguar lineup. This design element is poised to become an iconic hallmark of the brand’s electric future.

A fresh color palette will also be introduced, adding texture and movement to the upcoming concept cars. This vibrant and dynamic range of colors is expected to enhance the visual appeal of Jaguar’s electric models.

Furthermore, the ‘Maker’s Mark’ incorporates a redesigned Jaguar ‘Leaper’ emblem and a circular monogram combining the letters ‘j’ and ‘r’. This emblematic design element aims to evoke a sense of tradition while embracing a bold new vision for the brand.

Gerry McGovern, JLR’s design chief, expressed the vision behind these changes, stating, “This reimagining captures the essence of Jaguar, bringing it back to its roots while catering to a modern audience. We are shaping Jaguar for the future, reinstating its position as a brand that enriches the lives of our customers and the Jaguar community.”

During an exclusive event at JLR’s Gaydon design studio, Chief Commercial Officer Lennard Hoornik emphasized the importance of bold decision-making in driving innovation. CEO Adrian Mardell echoed this sentiment, describing Jaguar’s transformation as a “complete reset” aimed at delivering a truly remarkable product.

Jaguar Managing Director Rawdon underscored the brand’s commitment to creating cars that forge a deep emotional connection with drivers, promising a driving experience that is both visceral and captivating.
