The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is the entry-level SUV in Mercedes’ lineup, offering a blend of performance, comfort, and luxury. It competes with vehicles like the Audi Q3 and BMW X1 in the compact luxury SUV segment.

In terms of design, the GLA-Class features the signature Mercedes styling with a sleek profile, LED headlights, and an illuminated grille. The interior is modern and high-tech, with dual 10.3-inch screens, turbine-inspired vents, and aircraft-style toggle switches for some controls. While the cabin is well-built, some materials may not be as premium due to the vehicle’s relatively affordable price point.

Despite its compact size, the GLA-Class offers decent cargo space when the rear seats are folded down. However, passengers in the second row may find the seating area a bit tight in terms of legroom.

Under the hood, the GLA-Class comes with a choice of two 2.0-liter turbocharged engines. The base GLA 250 produces 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, while the AMG version cranks out 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and feature a 48-volt mild-hybrid system for improved efficiency and performance.

When it comes to safety, the GLA-Class comes standard with automatic emergency braking, active lane control, and LED headlights with automatic high beams. However, additional safety features can add up quickly in terms of cost. As of now, the vehicle has not been crash-tested by the IIHS or NHTSA.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the base front-wheel-drive GLA 250 achieves 26 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined. It’s worth noting that all versions of the GLA-Class require premium fuel.

Pricing for the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class starts at $44,150 for the base GLA 250, including destination charges. The all-wheel-drive 4Matic version starts at $46,150, while the AMG GLA 35 carries a starting price of $59,200. Optional upgrades like premium upholstery and audio can significantly increase the overall cost.

Overall, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class offers a good balance of performance, comfort, and luxury in a compact package. Its stylish design, peppy engines, and upscale interior make it a compelling choice in the competitive luxury SUV market.
