Deepal S05 is a sales hit with 21,730 orders but the challenge is to deliver them

The Deepal S05 has been making waves in the market, with the brand recently announcing that they have received a staggering 21,730 orders for the SUV. This comes just a month after the Deepal S05 was launched, available in both all-electric and EREV versions. The challenge now for the Changan-owned Deepal brand is to fulfill all these orders and deliver the cars to their eager customers.

Initially, the S05 received over 10,000 orders in just ten days, showing the strong demand for this new offering. In October alone, Deepal managed to deliver a total of 27,862 cars. If they can keep up this momentum and convert these orders into actual deliveries, November is set to be a record-breaking month for the brand.

The Deepal S05 comes in six different versions, with four all-electric options and two EREV models. Surprisingly, the EREV versions are priced higher than their all-electric counterparts, with the top-of-the-line 200 Ultra EREV priced at 149,900 yuan (approximately 21,100 USD).

The dimensions of the Deepal S05 measure 4620/1900/1600mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2880mm. Buyers can choose from five different colors for their S05. The car features Huawei xPixel-enabled intelligent headlights that can project a 120-inch screen effect.

Inside, the S05 boasts a 4K intelligent gimbal camera with 64GB of storage, a 14-speaker sound system, and a panoramic roof. The interior is available in three color options – orange, blue, and gray. The central control screen is a 15.4-inch 2.5K display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and runs on Deepal OS 3.0. The car also features a D-shaped steering wheel and an augmented reality head-up display.

The center console offers two layers of storage, including a 13-liter temperature-insulated compartment. The EV version of the S05 has a 159-liter trunk and a total of 651 liters of trunk capacity, while the EREV version has 464 liters of trunk space.

Powering the EV version is a 175 kW electric motor with a peak torque of 320 Nm, coupled with a 56.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack that provides a range of 510 km. The EREV model features a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine acting as a generator, along with a 160 kW electric motor and a 27.28 kWh battery pack, offering a 200 km all-electric range and a comprehensive range of 1234 km.

With such impressive features and strong demand, the Deepal S05 is set to make a mark in the market and establish itself as a popular choice among consumers.
