2026 Hyundai Palisade offers 9 seats, but will it come to US?

The newly redesigned Hyundai Palisade three-row SUV has made its debut in South Korea, offering even more seating space than before. This next-generation Palisade, which was unveiled in Korea, is expected to make its way to the U.S. market with some possible modifications as a 2026 model.

One of the standout features of the redesigned Palisade is the option to accommodate up to nine passengers. This is made possible by a unique configuration that includes a center console that can be folded down to create a middle seat in the first row. In addition to this innovative seating arrangement, the SUV comes with standard bench seats in the second and third rows, although the second-row bench can be replaced with captain’s chairs.

While it remains uncertain whether the nine-seat configuration will be offered in the U.S., it would certainly distinguish the Palisade from other three-row SUVs currently available in the market. The interior of the vehicle has been revamped to feature a dashboard design similar to the Hyundai Santa Fe, with dual 12.3-inch screens serving as the instrument cluster and infotainment interface.

The exterior styling of the new Palisade has also undergone significant changes, with a boxier shape, broader grille, and stacked headlights. The rear of the vehicle echoes the design cues seen in the front, with taillights mirroring the shape of the headlights. While details on the powertrain have not been disclosed, it is anticipated that Hyundai may offer a turbo-4 engine or hybrid powertrain for improved fuel efficiency.

As one of Hyundai’s top-selling vehicles in the U.S., the Palisade has consistently performed well in terms of sales, with over 80,000 units sold annually since its launch. In 2023, Hyundai achieved its best sales year yet, selling 89,509 Palisades. With the redesigned Palisade set to hit the market soon, it is expected to continue its success and appeal to a wide range of customers looking for a spacious and versatile SUV.
