BYD, a prominent Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker, has officially launched its presence in the Peruvian passenger car market with the introduction of the Song Pro, Tang, Yuan Up, Seal, and BYD Shark models. This move is part of BYD’s ongoing efforts to expand its international footprint and bring its innovative electric vehicles to new markets.

The company recently hosted a brand launch event in Peru, where it unveiled its impressive lineup of electric vehicles. To drive the electrification transition in the Peruvian market, BYD has formed a strategic partnership with local dealer Motorisa.

As BYD continues to grow its business in Peru, the company plans to expand its product offerings and open six to seven stores in the country by 2025. This expansion will ensure that customers in all regions of Peru have access to BYD’s cutting-edge electric vehicles.

Audrey Li, Vice President of BYD America and Regional Managing Director of BYD Latin America, expressed the company’s commitment to creating a greener and more sustainable future for the world. She emphasized the potential of Peru as a market full of opportunities that inspire BYD to turn its vision into reality.

In addition to its expansion in Peru, BYD is also making significant strides in the Americas. The company is constructing a production complex in Brazil and is considering a similar venture in Mexico. BYD’s presence in the region already extends to countries such as Chile, Suriname, Costa Rica, Panama, and Guatemala.

Furthermore, there are talks of BYD potentially establishing an assembly plant in Peru, similar to its facilities in Mexico and Brazil. This development underscores BYD’s commitment to investing in local manufacturing and contributing to the growth of the electric vehicle industry in Latin America.

In terms of sales performance, BYD achieved remarkable success in November, selling over 500,000 NEVs for the second time and recording the sixth consecutive month of record sales. The company’s sales figures continue to show robust growth, with a significant year-on-year increase in both domestic and overseas markets.

Overall, BYD’s foray into the Peruvian market and its continued expansion in the Americas highlight the company’s dedication to advancing the adoption of electric vehicles and promoting sustainability on a global scale. With a diverse range of high-quality electric vehicles and a growing presence in key markets, BYD is well-positioned to lead the shift towards cleaner transportation solutions.
