Winbond Electronics has recently unveiled a new product aimed at bolstering security in the automotive sector. The TrustME W77T Secure Flash family is designed to meet the requirements of software-defined vehicles and E/E systems, providing robust protection for connected and autonomous vehicles.

Operating at a 200MHz double transfer rate on the industry-standard Octal/xSPI interface, the W77T offers a read bandwidth of up to 400MB/s. This level of performance is ideal for automotive system-on-chip designs that demand quick boot times and high processing capabilities.

Available in densities ranging from 64Mb to 1Gb, the W77T comes in various packages, including TFBGA, SOIC, and WSON. It features advanced capabilities such as extended Replay Protected Monotonic Counters, JEDEC SPI CRC, and ECC, all manufactured in a security-certified facility.

The security features of the TrustME Secure Flash family include Post-Quantum Cryptography and firmware resiliency, complying with NIST 800-193 standards. Additionally, the W77T meets Common Criteria, ISO21434, FIPS 140-3 certification, and ISO26262 Functional Safety requirements.

Backward compatible with W25Q NOR Flash and W77Q Secure Flash, the W77T offers automotive security features like code and data protection, authentication, and secure software updates. Currently, 256Mb, 512Mb, and 1Gb samples are available, with 64Mb and 128Mb variants to follow soon.

In a statement, Winbond expressed excitement about the launch of their advanced Secure Flash product family, emphasizing the importance of security and reliability in evolving E/E architectures for software-defined vehicle designs. The company believes that the W77T is a compelling solution to address these challenges and drive innovation in the automotive industry.

Overall, the introduction of the TrustME W77T Secure Flash family by Winbond Electronics signifies a significant step towards enhancing security in connected and autonomous vehicles, catering to the evolving needs of the automotive sector.
