Great Wall Motor (GWM) recently announced the official launch of its second-generation Haval H9 diesel-powered SUV on December 5. The new Haval H9 is available in two trims: Tuojing trim priced at 233,900 yuan (32,200 USD) and Jijing trim priced at 247,900 yuan (34,100 USD).

The exterior and configurations of the diesel-powered Haval H9 remain consistent with the gasoline-powered variant. Customers can choose between five- and seven-seater layouts for added flexibility. The front face features a rectangular grille and round headlights, while the A-pillar is designed at a 39.3° windward angle to reduce wind noise. The SUV is available in four exterior paint options including white, black, gray, and green.

In terms of safety and technology, the Haval H9 comes equipped with 13 level 2 advanced driving assistance functions such as traffic sign recognition, rear collision warning, and automatic emergency braking for pedestrians, bicycles, vehicles, and at crossroads.

Under the hood, the Haval H9 is powered by a 2.4T diesel engine (GW4D24) delivering a maximum power of 135 kW (181 hp) and a peak torque of 480 Nm. The engine is paired with a 9AT transmission and features a BorgWarner Torque on Demand four-wheel drive system. The SUV has a fuel tank capacity of 78 liters.

The Haval H9 boasts seven driving modes including standard, sports, economy, 4L, sand, mud, and snow. Additionally, the vehicle offers advanced vehicle dynamic control to ensure stability and safety while driving on slippery roads or during cornering.

Measuring 5070(4950)/1976(1960)/1930 mm with a wheelbase of 2850 mm, the Haval H9 provides a minimum ground clearance of 224 mm, approach angle of 31°, departure angle of 26°/25°, wading depth of 800 mm, and towing capacity of 2.5 tons.

The cockpit features a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a 14.6-inch central control screen, along with a voice recognition control system that supports various functions including multimedia, navigation, phone, air-conditioning, sunroof, window, and seat operations. There are a total of 45 storage areas throughout the vehicle for added convenience.

Overall, the second-generation Haval H9 diesel-powered SUV offers a blend of performance, technology, safety, and comfort to cater to the needs of modern drivers. For more information, you can visit the official Haval website.
