The Maextro S800, a collaboration between JAC and Huawei, will soon be available as both a range-extended EV and an all-electric EV. The latest information from a government regulator sheds light on the specifications of this upcoming vehicle.

The all-electric version of the Maextro S800 boasts a three-motor setup. It features a 160 kW electric motor on the front axle and a 237.5 kW electric motor on each of the rear wheels, all supplied by Huawei. On the other hand, the EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) variant utilizes a 1.5 T engine as a range extender. There are two versions of the EREV, one with two electric drive motors and the other with three. The engine has a maximum output of 115 kW and is solely used as a range extender, with power to the wheels coming from the electric motors.

Both versions of the Maextro S800 are equipped with an NCM battery provided by the Jiangsu Division of CATL. The EREV variant comes with a 63.262 kWh pack, offering an all-electric range of 272-371 km. The specific battery capacity for the all-electric version is yet to be disclosed.

In terms of dimensions, the Maextro S800 measures 5480 mm in length, 2000 mm in width, 1536 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3370 mm. The curb weight of the all-electric version is 2731 kg, while the dual-motor EREV version shares the same weight. However, the three-motor setup EREV variant is significantly heavier at 2859 kg.

Surprisingly, despite its bulk and presumed luxury status, both versions of the Maextro S800 come with 20-inch wheels. Buyers can choose from three different wheel styles, with slight variations between the EV and EREV versions. The EREV model is exclusively offered with a horizontal bar lower air intake, while the EV version provides a choice between this style and the one showcased during the pre-sales launch.
