As a member of the mainstream media, I typically refrain from criticizing it, but recent discussions about parking in a bay have made me question the seriousness of some national newspaper columnists.
Personally, I have never thought much about how I park in a bay. I usually opt to reverse into a perpendicular parking space because it’s easier for me to maneuver and exit afterwards. While I may silently judge those who park nose inwards, I never considered it a topic worth discussing until now.
For years, I have believed that reversing into a space is the superior choice, with the only downside being limited access to the car’s boot when backed against a wall. However, the convenience of easy exit outweighs this minor inconvenience.
While I have never made a fuss about how people choose to park, recent criticisms of reverse parkers have compelled me to defend this method.
