Chery’s iCar brand has recently unveiled its second electric vehicle model, the iCar V23. This new model comes after the successful launch of the iCar 03 earlier this year, targeting fashion-conscious young people who are looking for a stylish and environmentally friendly vehicle.

The iCar V23 was officially introduced at an event, with deliveries set to commence later this month. This compact all-electric SUV features a sleek off-road SUV-like exterior design, catering to customers who value both aesthetics and performance. The vehicle is available in three variants, with prices starting at RMB 99,800 ($13,700) for the base model.

Measuring 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, and 1,845 mm in height, the iCar V23 offers ample space for passengers and cargo. It boasts a wheelbase of 2,735 mm, providing a comfortable and stable driving experience. The SUV’s dimensions are comparable to BYD’s Yuan Plus, a popular electric vehicle in the market.

The lower-priced variants of the iCar V23 are equipped with a rear-mounted single electric motor delivering a maximum power of 100 kW and a maximum torque of 180 Nm. These models can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in just 4.8 seconds, offering impressive performance for urban driving. The highest-priced variant features an additional front electric motor with a peak power of 55 kW, resulting in a combined power of 155 kW and a maximum torque of 292 Nm. This top-tier model can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in a swift 3.5 seconds, providing a thrilling driving experience.

The iCar V23 offers three battery pack options, including a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with capacities ranging from 47.28 kWh to 81.76 kWh. These battery options provide CLTC ranges of 301 km, 401 km, and 501 km respectively, catering to different driving needs. Additionally, the model supports fast charging, allowing for quick charging from 30% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

Inside the cabin, the iCar V23 is equipped with advanced technology, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and support for CarPlay and voice control. The smart driving system is powered by Horizon Robotics’ Journey 3 chip, enabling features like highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) for enhanced driving assistance.

Chery officially launched the iCar brand in 2023 as its first independent EV brand, with a focus on offering stylish and affordable electric vehicles. The iCar V23 joins the brand’s product lineup, which includes the iCar 03 and the concept car iCar GT showcased at the Shanghai auto show. With a commitment to innovation and sustainability, Chery’s iCar brand continues to make waves in the electric vehicle market.
