Originating in 1990, the Beijing auto show is a biennial event that draws in automotive enthusiasts and industry professionals from around the world. This year’s edition promises to showcase the latest innovations and trends in the automotive industry, with a focus on cutting-edge technology and sustainability.
In conjunction with the Beijing auto show, the Shanghai auto show is also gearing up for its next edition, scheduled to take place from April 25 to May 2, 2025. These two premier auto shows in China alternate every two years, offering a platform for automakers to unveil their newest models and concepts to a global audience.
The 2024 Beijing auto show saw a record-breaking 117 models making their global debuts, including 41 concept cars, captivating the attention of 892,000 visitors over the course of 10 days. The upcoming Auto China 2026 is expected to surpass these numbers, with an even larger exhibition area spanning 380,000 square meters.
The China International Exhibition Center Shunyi New Venue, along with the Capital International Exhibition Convention Center (CIECC), will host the Beijing auto show, featuring a total of nine pavilions with a combined area of 250,000 square meters. The completion of the CIECC’s second phase of construction by February 2025 will further enhance the venue’s capacity to accommodate the growing demand for exhibition space.
In addition to the Beijing and Shanghai auto shows, China also hosts several other auto shows, including the annual Guangzhou and Chengdu events. These regional shows provide a platform for both domestic and international automakers to showcase their latest products and engage with consumers in key markets across China.
As the automotive industry continues to evolve and embrace new technologies, the Beijing auto show remains a pivotal event for industry stakeholders to connect, collaborate, and shape the future of mobility.
