Subaru’s Forester has a reputation for being one of the best cars on the market, and it has won our Best Car To Buy award twice before. This year, the 2025 Subaru Forester is back with a focus on rugged looks and a refined interior. With a starting price of over $31,000 for the base model and over $41,000 for the top-end model, it’s clear that Subaru is aiming to deliver a premium experience for its customers.

The Forester stands out from its competitors with its practical design and impressive off-road capabilities. With standard all-wheel drive and 8.7 inches of ground clearance (or more in the Wilderness model), the Forester is ready to take on any terrain. The 180-hp 2.5-liter flat-4 engine provides plenty of power for everyday driving, while the responsive CVT transmission ensures a smooth and efficient ride. The Forester’s steering is light yet communicative, making it a joy to drive on both city streets and country roads.

Inside, the 2025 Forester has received a significant upgrade. The cabin is now more comfortable and tech-savvy, with a large 11.6-inch touchscreen as standard on all but the base model. The interior features sophisticated finishes and sound-deadening materials, creating a quiet and luxurious space for passengers. Front-seat comfort has been improved with more bolstering, and heated and power-adjustable seats are now standard on all but the base model. Rear-seat space is exceptional, with plenty of headroom and cargo space for all your gear.

While the 2025 Forester comes with a higher price tag than its predecessor, it still offers great value compared to its competitors. Starting at $31,090 with destination charges included, the Forester is a more affordable option than popular SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V Hybrid. For $33,390, the Forester Premium model adds even more features, including a sunroof, power driver seat, and a special off-road drive mode.

As we prepare to announce our Best Car To Buy award for 2025, the 2025 Subaru Forester is a strong contender against tough competition from other automakers. Whether it will three-peat as the winner remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the 2025 Forester offers a winning combination of performance, technology, safety, value, and style that is hard to beat. Stay tuned for the final announcement on January 6, 2025, when we reveal the winners on our websites, Motor Authority and Green Car Reports.
