Nio App starts showing ET9 wait time

Nio recently unveiled the highly anticipated ET9 sedan at its Nio Day 2024 event, allowing customers to customize their configurations and secure their orders for the luxury vehicle. According to the latest information from the Nio mobile app, customers who place an order for the ET9 can expect delivery within 13-16 weeks after locking in their configurations. This means that those who purchase the model now can anticipate receiving their ET9 as early as April 2025.

The ET9 is a four-seat sedan with a base price of RMB 788,000 ($108,000) inclusive of the battery pack, making it Nio’s most expensive offering to date. In addition to the standard model, Nio also introduced a limited edition of only 999 units of the ET9, starting at RMB 818,000 including the battery pack. The limited edition quickly sold out following its launch, surpassing expectations and prompting Nio to prioritize deliveries for these exclusive units.

Despite the high price tag, Nio founder and CEO, William Li, expressed modest sales expectations for the ET9. He stated that while he would be pleased if the model could achieve sales of 1,000 units per month, he does not anticipate it being a top performer in terms of sales volume. Analysts from Deutsche Bank estimate that the ET9 could sell around 1,500 units per month, citing the sedan’s elegant design and advanced technologies as key selling points.

In terms of delivery times for Nio’s other models, customers ordering the ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, and EC6 can expect a 2-3 week wait for delivery. The ET7, EC7, and ES8 all have a 3-4 week delivery timeframe, while the ES7 delivery schedule is currently unavailable.

With the launch of the ET9 and the strong demand for the limited edition units, Nio continues to solidify its position in the luxury electric vehicle market. As customers eagerly await the arrival of their new ET9 sedans, Nio remains focused on delivering innovative and high-quality vehicles to meet the evolving needs of discerning consumers.
