The production of the Xpeng Mona M03 in China has reached a significant milestone, with the 50,000th unit rolling off the assembly line. This marks a major achievement for Xpeng as the sales of this model continue to accelerate in the Chinese market. The production capacity of the Mona M03 has been ramped up three times, now reaching fifty units per hour, equivalent to producing one car every 72 seconds.

Xpeng, a Chinese automaker that had faced challenges with slow sales in recent years, saw a turnaround with the launch of the Mona M03 electric liftback. Launched on August 27 with a starting price of 119,800 yuan (16,400 USD), the Mona M03 quickly became a key driver of the brand’s domestic sales. The cumulative deliveries of the Xpeng Mona M03 have now surpassed 30,000 units, prompting Xpeng to expand its production capacity to meet the growing demand. On December 27, the 50,000th Mona M03 rolled off the production line, setting a new record for the fastest production line in Xpeng’s lineup.

It took Xpeng four months to achieve this milestone, showcasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the production process. With the current production cycle of the Mona M03 reaching a car every 72 seconds, Xpeng is now able to produce 50 cars per hour, 1,200 cars per day, and over 35,000 cars per month.

The Xpeng Mona M03 is an electric liftback that was developed over four years with significant investments. Boasting a world-record low drag coefficient of 0.194 Cd and a vision-based driving assistance system, the Mona M03 offers a unique driving experience. With a price range of 119,900 – 155,800 yuan (16,400 – 21,350 USD), the Mona M03 has been positioned as a profitable model for Xpeng due to effective cost reduction strategies.

In terms of design and features, the Xpeng Mona M03 is a sleek liftback with Y-shaped headlights and a minimalistic interior design reminiscent of Tesla. The car comes with a large 15.6-inch central monitor and adopts a Snapdragon 8155 chip for advanced functionalities such as 3D map rendering and 360-degree panoramic imaging.

Under the hood, the Xpeng Mona M03 offers two e-motor options: 140 kW (187 hp) and 160 kW (214 hp). It is equipped with two LF battery variants from BYD’s subsidiary FinDreams: 51.8 kWh and 62.2 kWh, providing a range of 515 – 620 km under CLTC conditions. With its innovative design, advanced features, and impressive performance, the Xpeng Mona M03 continues to attract customers and drive sales growth for Xpeng in the competitive Chinese market.
