WYP Glass Launches Automotive Glass Project in Bengbu City, Anhui Province

On December 28, Anhui Wuyao Automotive Glass Co., Ltd. officially inaugurated its automotive glass project with an annual production capacity of 4 million sets in Bengbu city, Anhui province. This milestone marked the end of Anhui province’s lack of automotive glass manufacturing capability.

The event also saw the first automotive glass product roll off the production line, signaling a new era for Anhui province in the automotive glass industry.

Anhui Wuyao, as the largest automotive glass production base of WYP Glass in China, is set to surpass its Wuhan headquarters in scale once fully operational. It aims to serve as a strategic hub for the Yangtze River Delta market.

WYP Glass, a leading supplier of automotive glass and assembly systems in China, caters to renowned automakers such as BYD, Dongfeng Honda, Dongfeng Nissan, Great Wall Motor, and Geely.

Following an agreement signed in 2023 with the Bengbu High-Tech Zone, WYP Glass invested 2 billion yuan in a new energy vehicle (NEV) glass project with an annual capacity of 4 million sets. This marked the first automotive glass project in Anhui Province. After nearly a year of construction, the project officially commenced operations in Bengbu city, bridging the gap in high-end automotive glass production in Anhui province.

The project is planned to be executed in two phases. The first phase, with a 500-million-yuan investment, involves the renovation of factory buildings, installation of automotive glass processing equipment, and setting up six production lines with an annual capacity of 1 million sets. The second phase, with a 1.5 billion yuan investment, will increase the production capacity to 3 million sets annually.

In the initial phase, Anhui Wuyao has already invested over 100 million yuan in equipment and smart production lines, generating sales revenue and supplying products to automakers like Hefei BYD and Chery. The project received construction, production, and regulatory approval within the same year. Additional production lines are set to begin operations by September 2025, enabling full NEV glass production capability.

The second phase, including automotive door glass and front windshield production lines, is scheduled for completion by May 2026, further strengthening Anhui Wuyao’s production capacity.
