Zeekr to launch two plug-in hybrids in 2025, aiming for 320,000 deliveries

Geely Group President, Andy An, recently announced that Zeekr is set to launch three new models in 2025. These models will include two plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and a station wagon variant of the popular Zeekr 007 sedan.

Zeekr, which was initially an all-electric brand under the Geely Group, is adapting to the changing preferences of Chinese consumers towards PHEVs. The company plans to introduce a station wagon version of the Zeekr 007 sedan in the second quarter of 2025. Spy shots of the new wagon, codenamed CC1E, were revealed in November, showcasing some of its exterior features.

The Zeekr 007 sedan, often compared to the Tesla Model 3 in China, boasts a 100 kWh NMC battery from CATL, offering a range of 660 km CLTC. With dual motors providing 475 kW of power, the sedan can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. Starting at 209,900 yuan (28,750 USD) in China, the 4.9-meter sedan has been a popular choice among consumers.

Later in 2025, Zeekr will launch a large flagship SUV codenamed DX1E, offering both all-electric and PHEV variants. Additionally, a mid-size SUV codenamed EX1E will be unveiled in the fourth quarter of 2025, also with options for all-electric and PHEV powertrains.

The company’s new PHEV powertrain, dubbed the Super Hybrid system, is designed to combine the advantages of all-electric cars and PHEVs. This system, expected to be a modified version of Geely’s EM-i Leishen plug-in hybrid system, will be showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show in April.

In response to the growing popularity of PHEVs in China, Zeekr aims to deliver 320,000 vehicles in 2025, up from 222,123 units in 2024. The Geely Group, to which Zeekr belongs, has set a sales target of 2.71 million vehicles in 2025, with 1.5 million of them being electric. In 2024, Zeekr sold 222,123 EVs globally, marking an 87.3% increase from the previous year.

With these new models and ambitious delivery targets, Zeekr is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market in 2025 and beyond.
