Zeekr, a brand under Geely, is set to begin mass production of the Zeekr RT, a customized version of the Zeekr Mix designed specifically for Waymo. This collaboration will see the delivery of Zeekr RT robotaxis to Waymo starting later in 2025.

The Zeekr RT minivan, currently undergoing testing, is touted as the “first mass-produced vehicle purpose-built for autonomous driving.” CEO Andy An proudly announced at the CES pre-launch event that Zeekr will be the first Chinese car brand to enter the US market.

During the unveiling at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas, Zeekr also introduced an autonomous driving domain controller powered by the Nvidia Drive AGX Thor chip. The Thor chip is a high-performance system-on-chip (SoC) developed by Nvidia specifically for autonomous driving and intelligent vehicle applications, succeeding the Nvidia Drive Orin platform.

Zeekr claims to be the first automaker to integrate the Thor SoC into their vehicles. Mass production of the new domain controller is scheduled to commence in 2025, with the first electric vehicle to feature it being a large SUV codenamed DXE1. While the exact launch date for the DXE1 was not specified, it is expected to be rolled out in the third quarter of the year.

The Zeekr Mix minivan, which measures 4668/1995/1775 mm (length/width/height) with a wheelbase of 3008 mm, boasts impressive maneuverability with its front wheels capable of turning more than 50 degrees, resulting in a tight turning radius of 4.95 meters. The powertrain of the Zeekr Mix features an electric motor in the rear axle with a peak power of 310 kW (415 hp), allowing the family minivan to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds. Equipped with a standard 76 kWh LFP battery, the Zeekr Mix offers a range of 550 km under CLTC conditions and supports 5.5C charging technology, enabling a rapid charge from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes.

The Zeekr Mix is priced at 279,900 yuan (approximately 39,000 USD) in China, with deliveries already underway since October 25. Zeekr also showcased other models such as the Zeekr 001 FR supercar and the Zeekr 009 Grand at CES 2025, solidifying their presence in the automotive market with innovative and cutting-edge technology.
