Hyundai has introduced a new variant of its first small electric SUV, the Inster EV, in the UK. Priced at just $35,000 (£28,745), the Inster EV Cross is designed for outdoor adventures with added style and features. This new version of the electric SUV comes with a range of upgrades to make it more rugged and ready for mini-adventures.
The Inster EV was initially launched last June as Hyundai’s first small electric SUV for the European market. With a starting price of around $27,000 (25,000 euros), the Inster EV has already become a popular choice in Europe. The new Inster EV Cross is priced slightly higher at £28,745 ($35,000) in the UK, offering a more adventurous twist to the electric city SUV.
This new variant of the Inster EV Cross features 17″ alloy wheels, a bold front and rear bumper, exclusive side skirts, black cladding, full projection LED headlights, roof rails, and more. Inside, the electric SUV boasts dual 10.25″ driver display and infotainment screens with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Powered by a 49 kWh battery pack, the Inster EV Cross offers a WLTP range of up to 223 miles. Despite its rugged design, the variant does not come with AWD. It is equipped with a single front motor that delivers 115 hp (85.5 kW) and 108 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a 0 to 62 mph sprint in 10.6 seconds.
The Inster EV Cross is available in exclusive colors, including a new Amazonas Green Matte option. The interior features a unique grey cloth with a lime-yellow accent trim. Customers can choose from a range of color options, with additional charges for certain colors.
Ashley Andrew, president of Hyundai and Genesis UK, expresses excitement about the new Inster EV Cross model, stating that it further enhances the versatility and appeal of the Inster EV. The Inster EV Cross is now available for order in the UK, with deliveries expected to begin in May.
This new variant follows Hyundai’s recent launch of the Inster EV in Japan, where it has been priced at around $18,000, making it the cheapest electric vehicle in Hyundai’s lineup in Japan. The Inster EV will compete with other popular electric vehicles in the Japanese market, such as Toyota, Nissan, and Honda.
