Denza, a premium sub-brand under BYD, has set an ambitious sales target for 2025 after a somewhat lackluster performance in 2024. According to a report from AutoPix, Denza is aiming to sell over 300,000 units in 2025, which would represent a significant 138 percent growth from the previous year.
In 2024, Denza sold a total of 126,035 units, a slight decrease of 1.41 percent compared to 2023. The brand currently offers a range of vehicles including the N7 SUV, Z9 sedan, Z9GT hatchback, and D9 MPV. The D9 MPV was the top-selling model for Denza in 2024, accounting for 83.75 percent of total sales with 92,945 units sold.
Deutsche Bank analyst Wang Bin’s team predicts that BYD Group, including Denza, will sell a total of 5.52 million vehicles in 2025, with Denza contributing 250,000 units to this figure. This indicates a positive outlook for Denza’s sales performance in the coming year.
Denza’s sales are expected to receive a boost from the gradual introduction of new vehicles based on the brand’s exclusive e3 platform. The e3 platform is a scaled-down version of BYD’s e4 technology, designed for ultra-luxury vehicles. It features tri-motor independent drive with dual-motor independent steering at the rear wheels.
The Z9GT, the first model based on the e3 platform, was launched in September 2024, followed by the Z9 sedan in November. The upcoming Denza N8 model is also set to transition to the e3 platform, with production scheduled to begin in the middle of the year and a launch expected in the second half.
Additionally, Denza is gearing up to introduce the N9 SUV in the first quarter of 2025, followed by a new MPV model later in the year. The N9 SUV, a large six-seat hybrid, has already appeared in a regulatory catalog from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Overall, Denza’s strategic focus on expanding its product lineup and leveraging advanced technologies like the e3 platform indicates a strong commitment to achieving its ambitious sales targets for 2025. With a range of new models on the horizon, Denza is poised for growth and success in the competitive electric vehicle market.
