2025 Cadillac CT5 Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

The Cadillac CT5 is a midsize luxury sedan that holds its own against competitors like the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and Genesis G80. With a diverse lineup and a range of features, the CT5 is a solid choice for those looking for a luxurious and stylish ride.

This year, the CT5 has received some updates to keep it fresh, despite being on the market since 2020. The exterior boasts new headlights that cascade downward, giving it a modern and sleek look. Inside, the redesigned dash now houses a large 33.0-inch display that runs the latest tech features. Cadillac has also made some changes to the lineup, eliminating the slower-selling base versions and slightly increasing the base price.

The CT5 stands out with its sleek and fastback-like profile, which sets it apart from traditional sedans. The design details are busy yet cohesive, with new headlights and cleaner grille detailing enhancing the overall look. The interior is equally impressive, with the new 33.0-inch display seamlessly integrated into the dash. The abundance of buttons and knobs on the lower dash and center console make for a user-friendly experience, especially compared to rivals with capacitive switches.

Under the hood, the CT5 offers a few different engine options. The base model comes with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine that delivers 237 horsepower, while a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine is available with 335 horsepower (360 hp in CT5-V form). For those seeking even more power, the CT5-V Blackwing is a dedicated performance car with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that produces 668 supercharged horses.

In terms of handling, all CT5 models perform well, with the V variants offering firmer and sharper reflexes. The CT5-V models also come with better brakes to handle the increased power. While the CT5 may not be the most fuel-efficient option in its class, it offers a good balance of performance and luxury.

Inside the cabin, the CT5 features an attractive design and supportive front seats. Rear-seat passengers will find decent legroom, though headroom may be limited. Most models come with standard leather seats, with the option to upgrade to softer hides. However, the 11.9 cubic-foot trunk is on the smaller side for a midsize sedan.

Safety is a top priority for Cadillac, and the CT5 has performed well in crash tests. All models come with an impressive array of standard tech features, including adaptive cruise control, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitors, and GM’s Super Cruise system for hands-free highway driving.

The Cadillac CT5 is priced competitively, with the base model starting at $48,990 and the high-performance Blackwing model commanding $96,990. The CT5 is proudly made in Lansing, Michigan, adding to its appeal as a luxury American sedan.
