Interestingly, these trademarks were not filed by Mercedes-Benz directly, but by a Swiss company called Robu Aktiengesellschaft. This same firm previously trademarked the design for the Bussink GT R SpeedLegend, a modified AMG GTR turned speedster. The possibility of a new S-Class Coupe being developed by a third party adds an intriguing twist to the story.
Building a business case for a large Benz coupe may be challenging, but it could potentially fit into Mercedes’ newly established Mythos series of ultra-expensive, limited-run models.
