The Lexus RC, a beloved sports coupe, is bidding farewell after a successful 10-year run in the automotive industry. Lexus has officially announced that the 2025 model year will be the final production year for the luxury coupe, marking the end of an era for the iconic vehicle that has not seen a redesign in its decade-long history. The last batch of Lexus RC cars is set to arrive at dealerships in the first quarter of this year.

For its swan song, the top-of-the-line RC F model will be exclusively available in a special Final Edition trim, boasting a powerful 472-horsepower V-8 engine. Priced at $95,175, the Final Edition package includes premium features such as 19-inch BBS wheels, Brembo brakes with red calipers, carbon fiber-reinforced plastic components, a luxurious red-and-black interior, and a high-end Mark Levinson audio system. Customers can choose from four different exterior colors for this limited edition model.

Under the hood, the RC F Final Edition retains its impressive 5.0-liter V-8 engine, producing 472 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. Lexus has made some enhancements to the engine to improve its performance and sound quality, resulting in a thrilling driving experience. The RC F can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, showcasing its impressive power and agility on the road.

On the other end of the spectrum, the base RC 300 model starts at $47,620 and is equipped with a 241-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Customers can opt for an all-wheel drive version with a 260-horsepower V-6 engine for an additional cost. The higher trim levels, such as the RC 350, feature a tuned-up V-6 engine that delivers 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, offering a sportier driving experience for enthusiasts.

While the RC lineup remains largely unchanged for the final model year, Lexus has made subtle updates to the design and features of the vehicles. The discontinuation of the RC comes as a result of low sales figures, with only 1,854 units sold in the U.S. last year. The compact luxury coupe segment is also facing challenges in the market, with other automakers like Mercedes-Benz and BMW also reevaluating their offerings in this category.

Despite its departure from the market, the Lexus RC leaves behind a legacy of performance, luxury, and style that will be remembered by enthusiasts and fans alike. As the final chapter of this iconic sports coupe comes to a close, it serves as a reminder of the innovation and craftsmanship that Lexus has consistently delivered over the years.
