BYD Unveils Official Images of Han L Sedan and Tang L Crossover

BYD recently shared official images of the highly anticipated Han L sedan and Tang L crossover. These new electric vehicles feature the brand’s latest design language and are equipped with new electric motors capable of reaching 30,000 RPM. The electric variants of the Han L and Tang L also boast 4WD with an impressive 810 kW (1,085 hp) power output.

The flagship models of BYD’s Dynasty series, the Han L and Tang L, have been spotted several times in China as they prepared for their market launch. On January 10, they applied for sales licenses in China, revealing some of their core specifications. Now, BYD has finally unveiled the official images of these highly anticipated models.

The Han L sedan, in particular, closely resembles the regular variant of the Han. Its exterior features elongated headlights connected by a chrome-plated element, a LiDAR sensor on the roof, flush door handles, a sleek roofline, and a striking single taillight strip. The Han L also comes equipped with ten-spoke rims, red brake calipers, and a large sunroof.

With dimensions measuring 5050/1960/1505 mm and a wheelbase of 2970 mm, the Han L is slightly larger than its regular variant. The sedan rides on 245/45 R19 wheels, giving it a commanding presence on the road.

The standout feature of the Han L is its powertrain. The RWD all-electric variant boasts a 500 kW (670 hp) synchronous permanent magnet motor with a remarkable 30,000 RPM. The 4WD version of the Han EV combines a 580 kW (777 hp) e-motor in the rear axle with a 230 kW (308 hp) electric motor in the front, allowing for exhilarating acceleration up to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.

Additionally, the plug-in hybrid BYD Han L comes in DM-i and DM-p variants. The DM-i variant features a 1.5-liter ICE producing 115 kW (154 hp) and an e-motor generating 200 kW (268 hp), while the DM-p variant includes an additional electric motor with 200 kW.

On the other hand, the Tang L crossover presents a distinct design compared to the regular Tang model. Its front end is characterized by thin LED running lights and headlights integrated into the front bumper, an active air intake, and a LiDAR sensor on the roof. The Tang L also features a slightly sloped roofline, hidden door handles, and a sporty roof spoiler.

Measuring 5040/1996/1760 mm with a wheelbase of 2950 mm, the Tang L is larger than the regular Tang SUV. It rides on 20-inch / 21-inch wheels and shares the same powertrain options as the Han L.

BYD is set to officially launch the Tang L and Han L on January 17, and these vehicles are expected to make a significant impact in the Chinese NEV segment with their impressive powertrain options. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting electric models from BYD.
