Xpeng is gearing up for a major expansion as it prepares to open a new headquarters building in Guangzhou. The new building will offer three times more office space than the current headquarters, totaling over 500,000 square meters. Additionally, there will be a four-level underground garage with double-decker parking spaces, providing ample parking for employees.
The expansion doesn’t stop there – Xpeng also plans to grow its offices in other key cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, and Shenzhen. This move comes as Xpeng aims to hire thousands of new employees in 2025, building on the 5,000 new hires made in the past year.
The company’s chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng, highlighted the need for additional talent in a recent internal letter, expressing a desire to welcome back former employees to the Xpeng team. With a total headcount of 21,850 employees currently, Xpeng aims to add another 6,000 staff members this year.
The expansion comes on the heels of impressive sales figures for Xpeng, with December marking the fourth consecutive month of record-high deliveries. In the final month of 2024, Xpeng delivered 36,695 vehicles, an 82.43 percent increase from the same period the previous year. This strong performance carried over into the fourth quarter, with a record-breaking 91,507 units delivered.
For the full year of 2024, Xpeng achieved a significant milestone by delivering 190,068 vehicles, up 34.23 percent year-on-year. These impressive results have positioned Xpeng as a key player in the Chinese EV market, with Deutsche Bank projecting delivery estimates of 400,000 vehicles for the company in 2025.
As Xpeng continues to expand its operations and grow its workforce, the new headquarters building in Guangzhou will serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration. With a focus on attracting top talent and driving further growth, Xpeng is poised for continued success in the competitive EV industry.
