BYD’s Denza Z9 GT Breaks Records with 10,000 Deliveries

BYD recently celebrated a major milestone with its luxury Denza Z9 GT model, which has become the fastest new energy luxury car to reach 10,000 deliveries. Priced at around $52,000 on average, the sleek GT is now gearing up to take on competitors like Porsche and BMW in the European market.

The Denza Z9 GT made its debut on September 20, 2024, and has already made a significant impact in the automotive industry. BYD’s premium Denza brand achieved the impressive feat of delivering its 10,000th Z9 GT model just a few months after its launch.

Featuring both fully electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain options, the Denza Z9 GT offers buyers a choice between the Pro and Max trims, with prices starting at 354,800 yuan ($48,500) and 384,800 yuan ($52,600) respectively.

Equipped with a powerful tri-motor setup, the all-electric Denza Z9 GT boasts nearly 1,000 hp combined. BYD’s cutting-edge e3 platform provides a front electric motor with 308 hp (230 kW) and dual rear electric motors with 644 hp (480 kW).

With a 100 kWh BYD battery pack, the luxury EV offers an impressive CLTC range of over 391 miles (630 km), while the PHEV variant can achieve up to 683 miles (1,100 km) on a single charge.

Measuring 5,180 mm long, 1,990 mm wide, and 1,500 mm tall, the Denza Z9 GT rivals the dimensions of popular luxury models like the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT and Panamera GTS.

One of the standout features of the Denza Z9 GT is BYD’s 9000 smart cockpit chip, developed in collaboration with TSMC, which supports up to 11 connected screens. The interior is equipped with a 13.2″ driver display, 17.3″ infotainment screen, and 13.2″ passenger display, along with a 50″ augmented reality head-up display (HUD).

BYD has confirmed plans to launch the Denza Z9 GT in Europe at a competitive price point compared to its luxury rivals. Additionally, a sedan variant of the model was unveiled last year, further expanding the Denza lineup.

Overall, the Denza Z9 GT’s record-breaking deliveries and impressive features position it as a formidable contender in the luxury electric vehicle market, signaling BYD’s commitment to innovation and sustainable transportation solutions.
