BYD recently shared a video showcasing the innovative capabilities of their Yangwang U7 electric vehicle. In the video, the U7 is equipped with a maze mounted on the roof, connected to the Disus-Z suspension system through a smartphone app. The system allows the vehicle to mimic the movements of the phone, navigating a ball through the maze with precision thanks to the gyroscope technology integrated into the Disus-Z active chassis.

In another video shared by BYD, they demonstrated a clever solution to door handles freezing in extreme cold conditions. In the video, the driver simply knocks on the door, prompting the automatic door handle to pop out and break through the ice, even in temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius.

The Yangwang U7 is the latest addition to BYD’s flagship EV brand, following the U8 floating SUV and the U9 dancing car. This supercar sedan features four motors with a combined output of 956 kW and a massive 135.5 kWh battery, providing an impressive 720 km range under CLTC conditions. Additionally, the U7 boasts the lowest drag coefficient among globally mass-produced cars, at Cd 0.195.

Unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, the Yangwang U7 is now available for pre-order with a deposit of 20,000 yuan. With a speculated starting price above 1 million yuan, this luxurious sedan offers top-notch performance with a top speed of 270 km/h and a quick 2.9-second acceleration time.

BYD also plans to introduce a PHEV version of the U7, equipped with an additional 2.0T engine and a 52.4 kWh battery for a 180 km pure electric range. The company’s Disus body control system, including the latest Disus Z suspension, enhances the driving experience by providing superior handling and stability.

This marketing effort by BYD mirrors a similar video shared by Nio, showcasing their Skyride active suspension technology on the ET9 model. The competition between automakers to showcase their advanced suspension systems highlights the importance of innovation in the electric vehicle market.

Overall, the Yangwang U7 from BYD represents a true marvel of engineering, combining cutting-edge technology with luxurious design to deliver a top-tier driving experience. With its impressive performance capabilities and innovative features, the U7 is set to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle industry.
