BYD’s expansion in the global market was evident in various key developments throughout the year. In November 2024, the company’s German factory celebrated the production of its 150th pure electric bus, highlighting BYD’s strong presence in the German market and its competitiveness in Europe.
Furthermore, BYD secured a significant order for 120 buses in the South African market in collaboration with Golden Arrow, a prominent local bus operator. The first batch of 20 pure electric buses for this order was produced at BYD’s Qingdao factory in October, marking the introduction of South Africa’s first electric bus fleet.
BYD also made notable progress in other regions, including Azerbaijan, where the company won an order for 160 all-electric buses in July as part of a government procurement project. Additionally, BYD’s Hungarian electric bus factory reached a milestone with the production of its 700th vehicle, solidifying its position in the European market. In Uruguay, BYD delivered 100 pure electric buses to CUTCSA, the country’s electric bus operator.
With a focus on global market expansion, BYD has been actively establishing overseas factories and sales networks in over 50 countries and regions. To date, the company has sold over 110,000 new energy buses, serving more than 400 cities worldwide.
