Polestar Unveils Arctic Circle Rally Versions of Electric Cars

Polestar, the Swedish electric car manufacturer, has recently showcased its line-up of electric cars with a full rally treatment to highlight the brand’s performance DNA. The Arctic Circle versions of the Polestar 2, 3, and 4 made their debut at the annual FAT Ice Race in Austria, showcasing extensive modifications aimed at enhancing performance on icy terrain.

Each of the Arctic Circle models features a suspension lift – 30mm for the Polestar 2, 40mm for the Polestar 3, and 20mm for the Polestar 4. They are also equipped with three-way adjustable Öhlins dampers, Pirelli studded tires mounted on rally-style OZ Racing wheels, front spotlights, Recaro bucket seats, chunky mud flaps, gold tow hooks, and a bespoke rally livery.

The Polestar 2 Arctic Circle, based on the 469bhp dual-motor variant, includes strut braces at each end, a Thule roof rack, ski mounts with all-terrain skis from Black Crows. The Polestar 3 Arctic Circle, with 510bhp, features a custom roof basket, snow ladders, and a heavy-duty equipment case. The Polestar 4 Arctic Circle, boasting 536bhp, adds a drift-style hydraulic handbrake to its customization.

While there is no confirmation yet on whether these Arctic Circle packages will be available for production cars, Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller hinted at the possibility. Lohscheller expressed his desire to emphasize the performance of Polestar cars further and sees the Arctic Circle collection as a representation of the brand’s unique performance DNA combined with Scandinavian design.

He stated, “We develop our cars under challenging conditions within the Arctic Circle in Sweden, and at the FAT Ice Race, we will showcase that on ice, there is nothing better than a Polestar. We are really excited to be part of this special event with our full model line-up, where it’s all about car culture and the performance experience.”
