Morgan releases first pictures of imminent Plus Six replacement

Morgan Unveils New Flagship Sports Car

Morgan has recently unveiled the first images of the highly anticipated replacement for the Plus Six, their flagship sports car. The new model is a sleek coupé that combines the classic styling of the Plus Six and Plus Four with elements from the Aero cars that were discontinued in 2018. One notable feature of the new flagship is its long, sloping tail, reminiscent of the Aeromax.

According to the Worcestershire-based company, the new flagship sports car will be built on a new platform derived from the current bonded aluminium structure of the Plus Six. It will also be powered by a BMW-sourced turbocharged six-cylinder engine, continuing the tradition of high-performance engines in Morgan vehicles.

The Plus Six will be phased out with the introduction of the Plus Six Pinnacle, a limited edition model limited to just 30 units. This special edition will draw design inspiration from the eye-catching Pininfarina-styled Midsummer concept that was revealed in 2024. Priced at £96,995, the Plus Six Pinnacle will showcase Morgan’s expanding bespoke program, offering customers a wide range of customization options.

The replacement for the Plus Six is set to launch later this year as a two-seater sports car that deviates from the traditional ‘wing silhouette’ seen in current Morgans. Meanwhile, the popular Plus Four, which has been outselling the Plus Six, will continue to embody the brand’s vintage styling that dates back to the 1936 4/4 model.

Morgan’s design chief, Jonathan Wells, has hinted at a more modern direction for the brand, referencing the “jet age” as a potential inspiration for future models. With the new flagship, Morgan aims to take cues from the exclusive Midsummer model to create a more upscale and distinctive offering that justifies higher price points and increased interest in their bespoke program.

Industry sources suggest that the move towards a more exclusive and upmarket model has been long-awaited within Morgan, as competitors in the market have been adopting similar strategies. The new flagship sports car is expected to set a new standard for luxury and performance in the Morgan lineup, appealing to enthusiasts seeking a truly unique driving experience.
