SAIC Motor had a remarkable year in 2024, achieving significant milestones across its diverse operations. The group focused on accelerating its international growth through strategic partnerships and joint ventures, such as the local production of MG vehicles in Egypt in collaboration with Mansour Group. Additionally, a joint venture was established in India with JSW Group to launch new energy vehicles and enter the high-end passenger car market.
Logistics capabilities were also enhanced as SAIC Motor commissioned advanced ocean car carriers to strengthen its global supply chain. One such vessel, the Anji Prestige, equipped with innovative LNG dual-fuel clean energy technology, was delivered with a capacity of 7,800 vehicles and a displacement of 40,000 tonnes.
Technological innovation remained at the forefront, with the introduction of the second-generation magnesium alloy case for the electric drive system. This mass-produced magnesium alloy case, weighing just 13.7 kg, showcased SAIC Motor’s commitment to cutting-edge technology in the automotive industry.
Collaboration with key partners was a key focus for SAIC Motor in 2024. The extension of the joint venture with Volkswagen Group until 2040 highlighted the long-standing partnership between the two automotive giants. Furthermore, an agreement with Audi to co-develop the Advanced Digitized Platform emphasized SAIC Motor’s dedication to innovative solutions in the industry.
Other notable achievements in 2024 included the launch of the SAIC Anji Logistics terminal, the introduction of new battery technology, and strategic partnerships with companies like Hesai Technology and CATL to advance electric vehicle technology.
