The Alfa Romeo Junior hybrid has officially hit the UK market, offering a new eco-friendly option for car enthusiasts. Priced from £27,895, the Junior Ibrida brings a fresh take on hybrid technology to Alfa Romeo’s lineup.
Named the Junior Ibrida, this model introduces a mild-hybrid set-up that is also found in other Stellantis group vehicles like the Citroën C4, Fiat 600, and Vauxhall Corsa. It combines a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, featuring a 28bhp electric motor integrated into the system.
With a total power output of up to 134bhp and 170lb ft of torque, the Junior Ibrida can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 8.9 seconds. Surprisingly, this makes it 0.1 seconds faster than the entry-level Junior Elettrica, which boasts 154bhp. The weight difference between the two models plays a significant role in this performance variation, with the Ibrida being 255kg lighter at 1230kg.
Efficiency is also a key highlight of the Junior Ibrida, with an impressive fuel economy rating of 58.8mpg and CO2 emissions of 109g/km. These numbers make the model a compelling choice for environmentally conscious drivers.
