Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Leapmotor, backed by Stellantis NV, is set to launch pre-sales of its new B10 SUV in the coming month. The company aims to make its advanced intelligent driving system more accessible by offering it in a more affordable model.
The Leapmotor B10 will be available for pre-sale starting on March 10th, as part of the company’s efforts to promote the widespread adoption of smart driving systems. Priced at less than RMB 150,000 ($20,520), the B10 will feature LiDAR technology to support smart driving in urban areas.
This marks the first time that Leapmotor has integrated LiDAR into a model priced below RMB 150,000, making advanced driving technology more affordable and accessible to a wider range of consumers.
The B10 made its debut internationally at the Paris auto show last October, followed by its China debut at the Guangzhou auto show in November. Built on the Leap 3.5 architecture, the all-electric SUV is the first model in Leapmotor’s B-series lineup, which aims to target the largest market segment globally.
With a compact size similar to that of a BMW X1, the B10 will compete with models such as the Aito M5 and Nio Onvo L60. Leapmotor has positioned the B10 in a price range of RMB 100,000 to RMB 150,000, catering to budget-conscious consumers looking for advanced driving technology.
The introduction of the B10 comes at a time when rival company BYD has announced its vehicle intelligence strategy, offering smart driving systems for free across its entire lineup. This move reflects the growing trend towards smart driving technology in the automotive industry.
In January, Leapmotor delivered 25,170 vehicles, showing a slight decrease from the previous month but a significant increase compared to the same period last year. The company aims to deliver 500,000 vehicles in 2025, building on its success in 2024 when it delivered 293,724 vehicles.
