BYD Unveils Vehicle Intelligence Strategy with God’s Eye Smart Driving System

BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) recently introduced its vehicle intelligence strategy, signaling a new era of smart driving capabilities for affordable models. The company showcased the capabilities of its “God’s Eye” smart driving system with a video demonstration featuring the Yangwang U9 electric supercar.

Equipped with the top-of-the-line God’s Eye A system, the Yangwang U9 successfully completed an autonomous drive at the Hunan Zhuzhou International Circuit. This high-performance electric supercar demonstrated the advanced capabilities of BYD’s smart driving technology.

The video showcased the Yangwang U9 autonomously navigating the race track during the daytime and at night, highlighting the versatility and reliability of the God’s Eye system. This groundbreaking achievement brings autonomous driving from the realm of video games to reality, showcasing BYD’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement.

BYD’s vehicle intelligence strategy categorizes the God’s Eye system into three branches based on their capabilities. The premium God’s Eye A system, known as DiPilot 600, utilizes three LiDARs and is primarily used in ultra-luxury models under the Yangwang sub-brand. The God’s Eye B system, DiPilot 300, incorporates one or two LiDARs and is featured in Denza brand and select premium BYD vehicles. The entry-level God’s Eye C system, DiPilot 100, relies on a camera vision solution and is designed for BYD’s affordable models.

In a significant move, BYD updated 21 models with free smart driving systems, making this technology accessible across a wide range of vehicles, including those priced below RMB 100,000 ($13,680). This initiative underscores BYD’s commitment to democratizing smart driving technology and enhancing the driving experience for a broader audience.

The Yangwang U9, launched in February 2024, represents the pinnacle of BYD’s electric supercar lineup, with a starting price of RMB 1.68 million. The model has garnered significant interest, with cumulative deliveries reaching 100 units by January 2025.

BYD’s focus on smart driving technology and innovation positions the company as a leader in the electric vehicle market, with the God’s Eye system setting new standards for autonomous driving capabilities. As BYD continues to expand its smart driving offerings to a diverse range of models, consumers can expect enhanced safety, convenience, and performance on the road.
