Peugeot Launches Five-Seat Versions of 5008 and e-5008
Peugeot has introduced new five-seat versions of its popular 5008 and e-5008 SUVs, offering a spacious cargo area by trading the third row of seats for a larger boot space. With a generous 994 litres of cargo room behind the second row of seats, the five-seat configuration provides 78 litres more space than the seven-seat model with the third row folded down.
The decision to offer a five-seat option was made to cater to customers who prioritize cargo capacity over seating capacity. This move positions the new 5008 models as contenders in the segment, rivaling even larger vehicles like the Land Rover Defender 130 in terms of storage space.
While the five-seat setup will be available on all versions of the combustion-engined 5008 and electric e-5008, it may not be offered in all markets initially. Peugeot has hinted at the possibility of including the new dual-motor e-5008, featuring a powerful 321bhp output and a four-wheel-drive powertrain that offers an impressive 311 miles between charges. This advanced powertrain configuration will also be introduced in the e-3008 model.
In addition to the dual-motor variant, Peugeot will continue to offer the standard single-motor, front-wheel-drive model of the e-5008, boasting a range of up to 414 miles on a single charge. The five-seat 5008 is expected to be priced competitively, potentially undercutting the seven-seat model which starts at £38,095 for the mild-hybrid version and £48,595 for the EV variant.
Customers can expect deliveries of the new five-seat 5008 and e-5008 to begin by June, offering a versatile and spacious option for those in need of a practical SUV with ample cargo space.
