Peugeot’s iconic 504 Break has received a bold makeover from the Peugeot Design Lab, transforming it into a Pikes Peak-inspired concept. This radical reimagination of the classic estate features wide box arches, a rear spoiler, and even the removal of the front doors for a truly unique appearance.
The headlights have been updated with LED lights in the signature ‘lion’s claw’ motif seen on the current 508 estate, along with the modern Peugeot emblem. The wheel arches have been widened to showcase turbofan-style wheels, with the number ‘113’ script paying homage to a French rap group that famously drove a 504 Break onto the stage at a music awards show.
At the rear, the Pikes Peak 504 boasts a forged-carbonfibre diffuser, adding to its high-performance credentials. Inside, the concept features eye-catching pink-and-white chequered seats to match the exterior livery, along with the futuristic Hypersquare steering wheel set to debut in Peugeot’s upcoming road cars. The rear seats have been replaced with a roll cage for added safety.
While Peugeot has not revealed specific performance upgrades for the Pikes Peak 504, it has hinted at a “crazy boosted” setup, suggesting the addition of a turbocharger. A similar concept, the Subaru GL Family Huckster, showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, featured a turbocharged engine delivering a whopping 862bhp to all four wheels through a six-speed gearbox.
In addition to the Pikes Peak concept, Peugeot has also presented a drift car version of the 504 Break, equipped with a hydraulic handbrake and a range of modifications for improved performance. The final concept in the series is a lowrider variant that maintains the original grille and coachwork, but adds yellow-tinted windows and an asymmetrical color scheme for a unique twist.
