BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) is gearing up to launch the all-electric Qin L EV, following the successful rollout of the hybrid Qin L Dm-i last year. The Qin family, one of BYD’s best-selling models, saw a whopping 732,252 units sold in 2024, making it a popular choice among consumers.
The upcoming Qin L EV is a mid-size pure electric sedan targeted towards a younger demographic, as mentioned by Lu Tian, the general manager of sales for BYD’s Dynasty series. This sleek and stylish sedan is set to make a mark in the electric vehicle market with its modern design and advanced features.
The Qin L EV is powered by an electric motor with a maximum power of 110 kW and a top speed of 160 km/h, making it a formidable contender in the EV segment. Weighing 1,670 kilograms, this five-seater sedan offers a comfortable and efficient driving experience for its passengers.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently approved the Qin L EV for sale in China, paving the way for its official launch. With dimensions measuring 4,720 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, the Qin L EV promises a spacious and comfortable interior for its occupants.
While pricing details for the Qin L EV are yet to be revealed, the Qin L DM-i is currently available in five variants in China, with starting prices ranging from RMB 99,800 to RMB 139,800. The Qin family has been a key contributor to BYD’s NEV sales, accounting for 17.14 percent of total sales in 2024.
In addition to the Qin L EV and the Qin L DM-i, the Qin family also includes the Qin Plus DM-i and the Qin Plus EV, offering a diverse range of options to cater to different consumer preferences.
