Nio App stops showing delivery wait times for main models, Onvo L60 gets shorter to 2-4 weeks

Nio, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has recently made changes to its mobile app, signaling that the delivery wait times for its popular models, including the ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, and EC6, are no longer being displayed. This move suggests that Nio may be preparing to introduce facelifts for these models in the near future.

The decision to remove delivery wait times for these four main-selling models comes as Nio has teased upcoming facelifts for them. In a live video stream in February, Nio’s founder and CEO, William Li, announced that the company would be releasing new products every quarter this year, with facelifts planned for the ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, and EC6 models. These facelifts are expected to include minor exterior changes and interior updates, such as the use of horizontal center screens instead of the previous vertical ones and the integration of Nio’s own Shenji autonomous driving chip.

In a regulatory filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the four models were shown to have slight tweaks to their exteriors, further hinting at the upcoming changes. These models are crucial to Nio’s sales, accounting for a significant portion of the company’s deliveries in 2024. The ES6, in particular, is Nio’s most important model, with a high number of deliveries in the previous year.

While delivery wait times for these four models have been removed from the app, other Nio models, such as the ET9, ES8, ES7, EC7, and ET7, continue to display their respective wait times. Additionally, Nio’s sub-brand, Onvo, has seen a reduction in delivery wait times for its L60 model.

In February, Nio reported an increase in vehicle deliveries compared to the previous year, with the main brand delivering 9,143 vehicles and the Onvo sub-brand delivering 4,049 vehicles. The company’s strong performance in the electric vehicle market reflects the growing demand for sustainable transportation options.

As Nio prepares to introduce facelifts for its popular models, customers can expect to see exciting new features and updates that enhance the overall driving experience. The changes made to the mobile app indicate that Nio is focused on innovation and excellence in its product offerings, positioning the company as a leader in the electric vehicle industry.
