New Adventures with the Lexus LBX
During a recent trip to the Kent coast, the compactness of the Lexus LBX once again proved to be incredibly useful. Navigating through unpaved lanes and parallel parking was a breeze, giving me a sense of comfort as other cars passed by. Despite being a small family, there was ample space for all our luggage, with even a small bike tucked away in the boot.
While the LBX is primarily designed for urban driving, I found it to be a reliable companion on longer journeys as well. Its versatility and practicality make it a likable choice for various road trips.
Exploring the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems
Initially, I had some reservations about the LBX’s advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). However, a conversation with a colleague who shared similar frustrations with the system made me realize that my concerns were not unfounded. It seems that Lexus is not the only brand facing challenges with their ADAS, with Kia also receiving criticism in this area.
Although I strive to embrace ADAS technology for its safety benefits, there are instances where these systems can be more of a hindrance than a help. The Lexus Safety System Plus, which includes features like Pre-Collision System with Intersection Turn Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Lane Keep Assist, aims to enhance driver safety but may sometimes lead to unexpected outcomes.
Despite these challenges, I continue to appreciate the overall performance of the Lexus LBX and its commitment to safety innovation. As I continue to clock miles with this versatile vehicle, I look forward to uncovering more of its hidden capabilities.
