Exploring Ford’s British Headquarters: A Road Trip Adventure
Our journey began in Manchester, where photographer Jack and I stayed the night before setting out on our road trip to Ford’s British HQ in Dunton. The anticipation was palpable as we prepared for the drive ahead, filled with motorways, potholes, A- and B-roads, and recharging stops along the way.
Despite a minor setback with a faulty charger outside our hotel, we were determined to make the most of our adventure. The hotel’s car park was unexpectedly filled with imported American cars for sale, a quirky sight that added to the excitement of our journey.
The next morning, armed with a reset charger courtesy of the Geniepoint helpline, we set off towards Dunton. As we made our way through the countryside, we couldn’t help but marvel at the contrast between our Explorer and its American counterpart parked beside it.
Arriving at Dunton, we were greeted by the imposing statue of Old Henry, a tribute to Ford’s founder overlooking the main entrance. The legacy of Ford’s presence in the area was evident, despite the changes that had taken place over the years.
Our road trip was a testament to the evolving landscape of electric vehicle technology, with even faulty chargers signaling progress in the industry. As we reflected on our journey, we realized that the spirit of exploration and innovation embodied by Ford’s legacy was alive and well in our own adventure.
While Ford’s former presence may have faded in some places, the spirit of innovation and adventure that drives the company forward was palpable throughout our journey. As we returned home, we were filled with a sense of accomplishment and excitement for the future of automotive technology.
